Wedding flowers - using sustainable floristry methods and how our process works
Being a small team & because we want to enjoy your wedding day too and give it our full attention, we only book one event per date and book a limited number of events per year. While we are happy to give estimates based on emailed requests, a face to face meeting is always preferable in order to ensure we are a good fit for your big day and to get to know one another! We want to know about your aesthetic, wedding goals, inspirations and your needs. We want to make sure we

Wintertime colour
Winter is here. Today is an unusually cold day for Perth - 11C at mid-day and it hasn't stopped raining. It's June, just the beginning of winter so we don't mind this too much. Give it a month or two & we will be completely over it. The coolrooms at the wholesalers normally feel freezing (they operate at about 4C) but during winter there can be little difference with the outside temperature. It pays to be a decisive florist - too long dilly-dallying about which shade of pi

Sunflowers
Available the world over and represented in cultures dating back to Ancient Greece is the humble sunflower. 🌞 Originally a food source, sunflowers are native to North America and date back to about 3000BC. If you're in the same boat & would like to enjoy a bunch of flowers or thinking of sending flowers to an allergy sufferer, here are a few flowers that have low pollen

Wreath" comes from the Old English "writhan," meaning "to twist. The meaning "ring or garland of flowers" is first recorded in 1560s. Persian Empire - wreaths were believed to be a symbol of importance as well as success. They were much smaller in size than the present ones and were known as 'diadems'. Only the r

Slow Flower Movement - buying locally grown flowers.
The slow food movement has been around for over 30 years continuing to bring awareness, striving to preserve traditional cuisine, encouraging sustainable farming & foods and promoting local small businesses. The slow flower movement is based on the same philosophy. Slow Flowers aims to reconnect flower consumers and professionals in the floral industry with the source of their flowers. It recognises that humans are disconnected from fragrant garden flowers and small-scale

Spring!
The flower markets are packed with a gorgeous, colourful array of locally grown and beautiful quality spring flowers - delphiniums, stock, scabiosa, and ranunculus being right at the top of my list of favourite flowers. Ranunculus come in a huge variety of colours from the deepest burgundy-wine through to crisp whites. They are perfect as a posy on their own or to bring a soft element to a mixed flower arrangement. Buying or sending an bouquet from a florist, the flowers
